Stage 1

In May 2015, Cheniere issued the notice to proceed (NTP) with construction on the first two trains to Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals, Inc. Cheniere entered into two Lump Sum Turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts with Bechtel for Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the CCL Project in December 2013. The Stage 1 EPC contract includes two LNG trains, two tanks, one complete berth and a second partial berth.

For the first two LNG trains, 7.62 of the 9.0 mtpa has been contracted to third party, foundation customers on a long-term FOB basis under sale and purchase agreements (SPAs). Foundation customers include Pertamina, Endesa, Iberdrola, GasNatural Fenosa, Woodside and EDF.

Any excess capacity not sold under long-term SPAs to foundation customers is available for Cheniere Marketing to purchase as described under its SPA.

Stage 2

Cheniere is developing a third train at the CCL Project and expects to reach a final investment decision (FID) and commence construction upon the final execution of commercial arrangements and financing with respect to Stage 2. Cheniere has completed all necessary permitting requirements with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Department of Energy (DOE). In addition, Cheniere entered into a Lump Sum Turnkey EPC contract with Bechtel for Stage 2, including one LNG train, one additional tank and the completion of a second berth.

For Train 3, 0.8 of the 4.5 mtpa has been contracted to date with EDP.
